Travels so far

I was very lucky as a kid, with my parents taking us on various family holidays. Being from cold and rainy England, we always seemed to end up in a hot country, which was perfect for me!

The one that really stands out has to be Disney World when I was 9 years old. It was a surprise holiday, we just turned up to the airport and jetted off, with my grandparents joining us. I will of course spare the details for a future blog post!

Other memorable family holidays have included Scotland, the Lake District, Isle of Wight, Dubai 3 times, Bermuda, Spain, New York, Toronto, North East France and Belgium, as well as ones that I was too young to remember such as Poland.

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page”

Hearing stories that my Dad has told me about his travels, as well as these family holidays, really inspired me to make the most of being a student and to travel! Studying in Lyon, which is such a good central location to explore Europe, was perfect for seeing new places.

Since being a student and becoming more independent, I have been on many holidays/trips with friends, mainly in Europe. I won’t give too much away here, as all of these trips will appear in my blog posts!

  1. I remember sitting in LAX in 2001 watching a Mom and Dad tell their child that they were going on a surprise trip to Disney Land. The child burst out crying…. At the time I didn’t fully understand the reaction, but now that I’ve had occasion to cry with pure and utter joy, I get it 🙂
